Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, is currently embroiled in controversy following his recent comments on the show “India’s Got Latent.” The backlash has escalated to the point where an FIR has been filed against him. Amid all this controversy, a video of Kanan Gill resurfaced when he asked a similar question on his show which has led to increased backlash on Ranveer Allahbadia.
Ranveer Allahbadia faces backlash amid video resurfaced of Kanan Gill
The controversy stems from an episode in which Allahbadia allegedly posed an inappropriate question to a contestant, involving sensitive and potentially indecent subject matter, and made a suggestive offer. The most shocking comment, which sparked widespread outrage, involved a highly provocative “would you rather” scenario concerning parental intimacy.
In the wake of the outcry, a video from 2015 featuring comedian Kanan Gill asking a similar question to actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani has resurfaced on social media. The clip, taken during the promotion of the film “Welcome to Karachi,” shows Gill asking Bhagnani the same controversial “would you rather” question that Allahbadia later posed. This may be an attempt to put the remark in context. It has also emerged that the original question may have been drawn from an Australian comedy show called “Truth or Drink”.
Ranveer Allahbadia was aware of what he was going to say- it was a well prepared skit copied from an English show! It was not an accident or a slip of tongue!

About IGL Controversy
The public reaction has been swift and severe. Many, including public figures, have condemned Allahbadia’s comments, leading to a police complaint filed against him and other judges associated with the show, including Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The Guwahati Police have registered an FIR against them under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Allahbadia has since issued a public apology. In a video statement, he acknowledged the inappropriateness of his remarks, stating that comedy is not his forte and offering a sincere apology. He has also stated that he will not provide any justification or context for his actions. As a result of the fallout, episodes of “India’s Got Latent” have been removed from YouTube, and a further investigation is underway.
